There she came into contact with Bessemer Trust, a New York–based boutique investment advisory business with $88.2 billion in assets under supervision that caters to ultra-high-net-worth and wealthy families. Cotton, 34, joined the firm in early 2001 as a junior research analyst in the fund-of-hedge-funds group. She left Bessemer for a brief stint at a Washington hedge fund but returned in 2005 and is now a senior hedge fund analyst. Managers praise Cotton as a diligent and knowledgeable investor with strong analytical skills. |
