Talk about an idea about to take off.EOS AirlinesandGlobal Capital Acquisitionare waiting in the wings to launch a new concept in air travel: in-flight hedge fund meetings. The “Capital Raising Flight” is heading for the skies Sept. 23 on a trip between New York and London, the two leading global hedge fund cities. EOS, a new carrier that provides only premium service for business travelers (the 757 jet has been refitted with just 48 “luxury suites”), and New York-based GCA, an alternative investment adviser, says it wants its passengers to make the most of their time together. “EOS will enable my company to extend its capital raising activity to transcontinental flights thereby increasing the time efficiency for hedge fund managers,”Bartt Kellermann, president and founder of GCA, said in a statement. The meetings may be the focus, but by far not the only travel amenity. Once the hobnobbing is over, complete with dinner, passengers also get a full flat bed to cozy up in, free limousine service when they arrive in London, another GCA-hosted capital introduction roundtable and an evening reception atBloomberg’s center in London.
