Galleon Witness Settles SEC Charges

A cooperating witness in the criminal insider-trading case against Galleon Group founder, Raj Rajaratnam, has reached a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

    A cooperating witness in the criminal insider-trading case against Galleon Group founder, Raj Rajaratnam, has reached a settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, The Wall Street Journal reports. Roomy Khan has agreed to resolve the SEC’s civil case against her.

    As part of the agreement, Khan will disgorge $1.55 million and pay about $304,000 in prejudgment interest. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy, securities fraud and obstruction of justice in October 2009 and agreed to cooperate in the criminal investigation of Rajaratnam along with others.
