Italy CenBank Official To Chair EBA
The European Banking Authority is planning to appoint Andrea Enria as its new Chairman.
TheEuropean Banking Authority(EBA) is planning to appointAndrea Enriaas its new Chairman,Reutersreports. Enria will join the European authority from the central bank of Italy, where Enria was a senior official.
Enria will be working alongside the banking sector director at the U.K.’sFinancial Services Authority,Thomas Huertas. London-based EBA was launched on Jan. 1, 2011, replacing theCommittee of European Banking Supervisorsas part of a broad overhaul of European Union supervision.
