Mellon Capital Floats Commodities Fund

Mellon Capital Management, unit ofBNY Mellon Asset Management, has unveiled a new commodities strategy. TheCommodity Alpha Long-Bias Strategywill offer institutional investors diversification beyond equities and fixed income and will provide a hedge against inflation.

The strategy uses a volatility-adjusted version of theDow Jones UBS Commodity Index, which offers trading opportunities as well as an inflation hedge, addsReuters. It generally uses longer-dated futures contracts and takes long or short positions in contracts with positive roll returns.
