IMF Provides €3.6B Loan To Romania

The International Monetary Fund’s board is providing a new 24-month €3.6 billion credit line to Romania.

    TheInternational Monetary Fund’s (IMF) board is providing a new 24-month €3.6 billion credit line to Romania,The Wall Street Journalreports. The country will treat the financing as precautionary and Romanian authorities do not plan to tap the funds.

    IMF is also providing Romania with €1 billion, which is the last installment of a nearly €13 billion program approved in 2009. Romania will also be able to access €1.4 billion from the European Union program and €400 million from theWorldBankin case of emergency.
