Citigroup is seeking to sell around $1 billion of its private-equity portfolio.

    Citigroupis seeking to sell around $1 billion of its private-equity portfolio,The Wall Street Journalreports. The U.S. lender is looking to sell both a fund interest in theKKR 2006 Fundas well as co-investment positions alongside the fund.

    Pantheon,Coller Capital,Lexington Partners,Partners GroupandHarbourVestPartnershave been invited to bid for the assets. New York-based Citigroup was in talks to sell stakes of around $500 million in buyout funds managed byCVC Capital Partners.
