EC Issues Mortgage Proposals
The European Commission has released its proposed directive governing the mortgage market, reports Mortgage Strategy.
TheEuropean Commissionhas released its proposed directive governing the mortgage market. Thedirectiveproposes, among other things, requirements for advertising mortgage credit, and establishes principles for authorization and registration of credit intermediaries. In addition, lenders and credit intermediaries would be required to make available general information on the full range of products they offer. TheBuilding Societies Associationsaid the proposal would costs tens of millions of pound to implement.
