French petroleum company, Total, is planning to sell 800 petrol stations in the U.K.

    French petroleum company,Total, is planning to sell 800 petrol stations in the U.K.,Financial Timesreports. The company is in discussions with a group of investors that includes property developer,Gerald Ronson, to sell the assets.

    The consortium includes Ronson’s petrol retail chain,Snax 24,Investecand London-based investment groupGrovepoint Capital.Blackstone,TPGandBain Capitaland local fuel distributorsGreenergyandMRHhave also shown interest. In September 2010, Total hiredJPMorganto find a buyer for its U.K. retail network.
