Kazakh SWF Appoints Chairman
The Samruk-Kazyna fund has appointed Timur Kulibayev as chairman of Kazakhstan’s $80 billion sovereign wealth fund.
TheSamruk-Kazynafund has appointedTimur Kulibayevas chairman of Kazakhstan’s $80 billion sovereign wealth fund,The Telegraphreports. Kulibayevhas succeededKairat Kelimbetov, who will now serve as the minister of economic development and trade.
Kulibayev has earlier chaired the boards of companies controlled by the national wealth fund, includingKazatomprom,KazMunaiGaz,Kazakhstan TemirZhol,KEGOCandSamruk-Energo. Since 2008, he has served as chairman of the national committee of theWorld Petroleum Council.
