Pierre-Henri Flamand

Pierre-Henri Flamand
Edoma Capital Partners

He’s not just another guy from Goldman Sachs starting a hedge fund. French-born Pierre-Henri Flamand, 40, was the London-based co-head of Goldman Sachs’ principal strategies group, an important engine of the firm’s earnings until new rules put limits on investment banks’ proprietary trading.

Flamand left Goldman last spring to launch Edoma Capital Partners. As CIO, he has raised approximately $2 billion in capital. The event-driven firm, which operates out of offices in the Mayfair section of London, started trading in November. Flamand joined Goldman in 1995 after getting a Mastère spécialisé degree from Paris’s prestigious Ensae grande école; in 2007 he was promoted to co-head of the principal strategies group.
