Wilfrid Laurier University’s investment funds have allocated a part of their portfolio to hedge funds,HFMWeekreports. The WLU Pension Plan, the WLU Endowment Fund and the WLU Balsillie Fund have added Canadian hedge fund Polar Securities to its alternative strategies portfolio.

The university had earlier altered its investment portfolio to allocate 15% assets to alternative strategies, including hedge funds. The university manages $372.3 million in assets across its endowment and pension funds.
