TheSecurities and Exchange Commission(SEC) is seeking information regardingExxon Mobil’s possible payments to Libya’s sovereign wealth fund,The Wall Street Journalreports. The commission has also enquired about the operations ofConocoPhillipsandOccidental Petroleumin Libya.
SEC is currently examining the role ofGoldman Sachsand other financial companies in violated bribery laws in dealings withLibya Investment Authority. The companies are cooperating with the authorities.
