    Faisal Syed
    Pamli Capital Management

When Faisal Syed, 37, founded Pamli Capital Management in 2010, he did so with the enthusiastic blessing of his two former bosses — Highbridge Capital Management co-founders Glenn Dubin and Henry Swieca. Syed, who moved to the U.S. from India in 1996 to get his MBA in finance at Northeastern University in Boston, joined Highbridge in 2005 after working in the proprietary trading groups at both JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Credit Suisse.

He made money every year he was at Highbridge, including 2008, when he had success both long and short in his credit strategies. Seeing unprecedented opportunities, Syed decided to launch his own firm, New York–based Pamli, whose relative value multistrategy credit fund specializes in everything from mortgages to credit default swaps and now manages $100 million in assets.
