SREI Plans $1B Infrastructure EQ Fund

SREI Infrastructure Financeis seeking to raise $1 billion through an infrastructure equity fund,Reutersreports. The new fund will invest in sectors, including roads, power and ports. The Indian infrastructure financing firm intends to raise the first tranche of $500 million by March.

The funds will be raised from pension and endowment funds looking to invest in Indian infrastructure, addsEconomic Times. The firm has already secured $200 million in domestic infrastructure projects through two equity funds raised from domestic investors.
