NSF Grants $8M to University Group
The National Science Foundation is offering $8 million to a university group led by the University of Michigan.
TheNational Science Foundation(NSF) is offering $8 million to a university group led by theUniversity of Michigan,The Wall Street Journalreports. The money will be used to improve methods for data sharing among researchers working in sustainability. The fund goes to the group’s School of Information and affiliated programs atIndiana University,Rensselaer Polytechnic Instituteand theUniversity of IllinoisatUrbana-Champaign.
The social networking technologies will also be used by the Sustainable Environment-Actionable Data program to encourage connections among scientists. The consortium will work with scientists in sustainable land use, water quality, urban planning and agriculture in the upper Great Lakes and Mississippi river basin.
