Oracle To Acquire RightNow For $1.5B

The world’s second-largest software makerOracle Corp.is taking over Bozeman-basedRightNow Technologiesfor $1.5 billion,Bloombergreports. California-based Oracle will this get access to customer service expertise to boost a new Internet-based product.

The transaction will add software that helps companies cater to customers using call centers, Internet and social networks. The RightNow acquisition is the biggest that Oracle has undertaken since its purchase ofSun Microsystemsin January 2010.
