Technology, Media & Telecommunications - IT Hardware: Second

SECOND TEAMBenjamin ReitzesBarclays Capital It’s six straight years in second place for Benjamin Reitzes. “He’s a very solid stock picker who shows real conviction,” marvels one investor. Case in point: Reitzes has had only one top pick in the past eight years: Apple. He considers the Cupertino, California–based developer and manufacturer of computers, portable music players and tablets to be a star player in the “consumerization of information technology.” Apple’s shares grew by 19.3 percent, from $322.56 to $384.83, year-to-date through August, and led the sector by 17.1 percentage points. Reitzes “has done phenomenal work in vendor supply-chain analysis in evaluating Apple — and he’s been dead-on,” says one impressed money manager.
