HSBC Names North Asia Chief

Provider of private banking and trustee servicesHSBC Private Bankhas selectedBernard Rennellas CEO for North Asia,The Assetreports. Based in Hong Kong, he will be in charge of its all private banking activity in North Asia, including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines.

Rennell came to HSBC in Asia-Pacific in July 2000 as private wealth services head ofBank of Bermuda, now known asHSBC Bank Bermuda. Besides being a securities lawyer, he was chairman of the Hong Kong branch of theSociety of Trust and Estate Practitionersand theHong Kong Trustees' Association. At present, he is also a member of the advisory boards of a number of public and private charitable and philanthropic foundations.
