HKMEx Appoints COO

China’s international commodity marketplaceHong Kong Mercantile Exchange(HKMEx) has namedWilliam Barkshireas COO,Finextrareports. Barkshire, who is currently senior adviser at HKMEx, will now manage delivery of its defined strategy and corporate objectives, build strategic alliances and joint ventures and organize cross-departmental agendas and implementation. He will continue reporting to the exchange’s chairman.

Barkshire serves on theTreasury Markets Association's market practices committee and theHong Kong General Chamber of Commerce's financial services and treasury committee. Previously, he was with theLondon Stock Exchangeas director of corporate strategy and a member of the CEO’s committee.
