AP3’s Chief Investment Officer Dies

Mårten Lindeborg, the chief investment officer of Swedish national pension fund AP3, has died.

Lindeborg, who was in his 40s, had been ill for a short period of time, the organization said in an announcement Thursday.

“Mårten has been an important, dear colleague and an appreciated leader at AP3,” the statement said.

Lindeborg出生于1971年。他had been at the pension fund since 2009, working his way up to the dual role of CIO and deputy chief executive officer in 2015.

In his time at the Stockholm-based pension fund, Lindeborg helped to develop its asset management strategy and consolidated its approach to sustainability issues,AP3’s website shows.

A spokesperson for AP3 did not return a phone call seeking further comment.

Lindeborg studied at Stockholm University, graduating in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance, hisLinkedInprofile shows.

Following his graduation, Lindeborg joined Skandia Asset Management, first as a financial controller, and eventually as a portfolio manager.

In 2001, Lindeborg took a role as head of tactical asset allocation at DnB NOR Asset Management. At DnB, Lindeborg managed two segregated tactical asset allocation accounts for two of the largest private pension funds in Scandinavia, according to his profile.

In February 2009, Lindeborg took a job at AP3 as head of strategic asset allocation. He remained in that role for five years before being promoted to head of asset management in 2014. Lindeborg spent a year in that role before once again being promoted, this time to chief investment officer.
